The man using google translator to avoid speaking

When I was a teenager and didn’t want to answer my phone, I would always say the speaker was broken; it worked every time, and nobody got hurt, plus I avoided long audio messages, which for me is amazing. Paradoxically, the Frenchman had to do something way harder than speaking, which is outright performing. Maybe, for him, it’s easier to perform and to create a whole character than to speak or to be upfront about his desires, which is, in turn, peculiar.

I like to think the barber always knew the man was French and was just playing along. So who’s fooling who? Maybe there’s another post on Reddit where the barber is confessing that. If that’s the case, they both enjoyed their own mischief.
